Just offshore from Mission Beach, Dunk Island (opens in a new tab) is a national-park island for a day trip or an overnight camping stay.

Walk, swim and look out for wildlife

Most of the island is national park, with rainforest, beaches and wildlife. Walking trails lead through the island, including the climb to Mt Kootaloo for views across Dunk Island and the mainland.

Plan an overnight stay

The national park has nine campsites with toilets, showers, barbecues and drinking water. Reach the island by boat or bus transfer from Mission Beach, and confirm transport, camping and weather arrangements before travelling.
